Given the absence of space in what is left of 2026, the Government explained that the pause responds to a process of technological evolution and adaptation, aimed at optimizing the participation of the media and expanding citizen access to public information. According to the official explanation, the adjustments seek to modernize the format of "La Semanal," incorporating tools that allow for greater interaction, reach, and efficiency in the dissemination of content, both for journalists and the general population. Since its creation, "La Semanal" has served as a platform for President Abinader to address issues of national interest, answer questions from the press, and provide updates on public policies, government projects, and decisions of the Executive Branch. The Government has not reported a specific date for the resumption of the meeting.
