Tragedy in Salcedo; young person loses their life in a fatal traffic accident

Salcedo. – A tragic traffic accident that occurred just minutes ago claimed the life of a young man identified as Kevin Antonio Sánchez, 29 years old, residing in the community of El Jobo, in this municipality of Salcedo, Hermanas Mirabal province.

The unfortunate event took place on the Salcedo–Tenares highway, specifically in the community of El Hoyo, in front of the establishment known as Byblos, a point frequently traveled by vehicles and motorcycles. According to preliminary reports, Kevin was riding a motorcycle at the time of the accident, although precise details on how the incident occurred have not yet been provided. Some sources indicate that it could be a collision with another vehicle, but this information is being verified by the competent authorities. The young man's body was lifted by members of the 9-1-1 Emergency System, in coordination with the General Directorate of Traffic and Ground Transportation Safety (DIGESETT) and police officers. Traffic in the area was partially affected while the corresponding work was carried out. Kevin Antonio Sánchez was well known in his community for his affable and hardworking character. His death has caused great consternation among family, friends, and neighbors, who deeply regret his sudden departure. Authorities continue investigations to clarify the facts and determine responsibilities, if any.
