The new 26-song album includes great collaborations with stars like Marc Anthony and Carla Morrison
New York, NY – After reaching the #1 position with the most listened-to Latin song in the world on Spotify's global chart, Colombian artist Beéle has officially released his highly anticipated debut album BORONDO, now available on all streaming platforms via 5020 Records.BORONDO is a collection of 26 genre-bending songs, and includes collaborations with an all-star cast that brings together Marc Anthony and Carla Morrison. The album explores Beéle's roots, his influences, and his emotional evolution through sounds such as reggaeton, pop, Afrobeats, and Caribbean rhythms. It presents an authentic fusion between his upbringing on the Colombian coast and contemporary global sounds, highlighting Beéle's artistic depth and narrative capacity.
“This album has been a dream in the making for years. It wasn't something I did overnight, each song represents a piece of my life, my story, who I am. I am happy, grateful, and proud to finally share BORONDO with the world. For me, it's more than a debut, it's my soul in the form of music.”, says Beéle
Among the many highlights of BORONDO (note: the album title is intentionally written in capital letters to differentiate it from the single “borondo”, which is written in lowercase), some songs stand out not only for their sonic impact, but for what they reveal about Beéle's evolution as an artist.
“mi refe”, a hymn that became triple Platinum, vibrates with its characteristic tropical sound: a perfect mix of fire and nostalgia, which captures the melodic sensibility that catapulted him to fame.
Then there's “Dios me oyó”, a monumental collaboration with Marc Anthony that fuses Afrobeats rhythms with Anthony's epic romanticism. It's not just an intergenerational duet; it's a reflection of Beéle's cultural duality and his growing confidence as a voice that defies genres.
But perhaps the most personal moment of the album comes with “time and space”, a vulnerable ballad in English written as a prayer.
Although English is not his first language, Beéle strived to express something deeply spiritual: “I need time and space with you (God), with myself, and with whatever you want for me.” The result is a song that reveals his emotional depth and his willingness to step out of his comfort zone in search of something greater.
BORONDO positions Beéle as one of the most versatile voices in current Latin music. At the end of this month, Beéle heads the list of nominees for the Heat Latin Music Awards with seven nominations, including Best Urban Artist and Song of the Year. The ceremony will take place on May 29.
As Beéle continues his rise on the global stage, BORONDO not only marks an important moment in his career: it is also an open invitation to his world, reaffirming that this is just the beginning of an extraordinary journey for the artist.
