Santo Domingo.- The renowned Dominican designer Giannina Azar denied this Tuesday through a statement that the dress worn by the Dominican actress Massiel Taveras to presumably participate in the Cannes Film Festival in its 2025 edition is a creation of hers.
Azar also denied the news to DUM, assuring that he had nothing to do with the making of the dress, because although last year he designed and made the former queen's dress for her appearance at the important festival, he has nothing to do with it in this edition, despite the fact that Massiel will send a press release informing the opposite.

“In light of recent publications and rumors spread across various media and digital platforms, the renowned international fashion designer Giannina Azar firmly and categorically clarified that she is not the creator of the wardrobe worn by the communicator and actress Massiel Taveras on the red carpet of the Cannes Film Festival 2025,” states the statement.
This also states that out of respect for the work of the renowned designer, her clients, and the public who have followed her career for many years, it is reiterated that Giannina had no participation in the process of creating and making the dress worn by Masiel, and therefore any information that has circulated in this regard is "totally false".
In the statement to which De Último Minuto had access, the designer, whose name has been consolidated on international runways for dressing world-renowned celebrities, reaffirms her commitment to transparency, professional ethics, and the creative integrity that have characterized her career.
Likewise, it requests the media to refrain from continuing to replicate erroneous information that may lead to confusion or affect its image as a fashion creator.
