Bombings disrupt public order in Cauca: no victims reported

Bogotá.- In the early hours of this Tuesday, the department of Cauca, located in western Colombia, was the scene of two car bomb explosions that disrupted public order, although so far there are no reports of fatalities or injuries. Local authorities confirmed the events, which occurred at two strategic points in the region. The first attack took place in front of the Transit Secretariat of El Bordo, near the Pan-American highway, which connects Cauca with the neighboring department of Nariño. Following this, the second explosion was recorded in the town of Corinto, causing material damage to homes, commercial establishments, and a police station.

Colombian authorities have indicated that the explosions could be related to FARC dissidents, specifically the groups under the command of alias 'Iván Mordisco', such as the Dagoberto Ramos Ortiz front and the 57th front, both with an active presence in the Cauca region. Although no fatalities or injuries have been reported, the explosions have generated concern in the community, especially due to the material damage and the disruption of public order in an area already affected by the armed conflict.
