Washington.- A U.S. federal judge ordered on Thursday to halt President Donald Trump's order to block funds for the anti-terrorism subsidy of the New York transit system.
The federal judge, Lewis Kaplan, stopped the president's decision to withhold the $34 million in anti-terrorism funds for New York.
The magistrate's decision was based on the statement that Trump violated the Administrative Procedure Act by withholding funds and pointed out that the city's transportation system is a state agency and not a New York "instrument."

In its resolution, Kaplan called the Administration's decision "arbitrary" and emphasized that since September 11, 2001, the city's subway has suffered more than eight attempted attacks. New York Governor Kathy Hochul stated that the state should not have to fight in court for the money from a federal grant aimed at protecting the safety of the population. Trump decided to suppress these funds on October 1st, a month before the mayoral elections in the city, led by Democrat Zohran Mamdani.
