Miami.- SpaceX, the aerospace company owned by magnate Elon Musk, announced this Friday that the tenth test launch of the enormous Starship spacecraft will take place on August 24th after the failures of the previous three attempts.
"Starship's tenth flight test is preparing for its launch on Sunday, August 24. The launch window will open at 6:30 PM Central Time (11:30 PM GMT)," SpaceX reported on its website.
The system's launch will take place from the city of Starbase (Texas), headquarters of the SpaceX base, where the launch pad and the company's production facilities are located.
The Starship will be propelled into Earth orbit by the reusable Super Heavy rocket, which will repeat the turning maneuver it performed in the last mission to save fuel, although in this case it will not return to the launch site but will head towards a sea platform.
During its descent, the rocket will collect data that will be useful for future missions. Meanwhile, Starship has several objectives, such as the deployment of eight Starlink satellite simulators.

To avoid repeating the errors of the last three missions, which ended with the loss of the Starship spacecraft, SpaceX announced that "a significant number of Starship tiles have been removed to test the limits of vulnerable areas throughout the vehicle during re-entry." The investigation into the failure of the ninth Starship flight on May 27 determined that fuel leaks occurred that affected the stability control of the ship, which ended up causing an explosion of the ship, which SpaceX defines as "an unplanned rapid disassembly".
