Two Italian soldiers died this Wednesday when the Air Force plane they were using to perform some maneuvers crashed in the Circeo National Park, in the Lazio region (center), the body itself reported in a note.
The victims are a 48-year-old colonel and an intern, according to local media. The aircraft, a T-260B model from Wing 70 of Latina, crashed for reasons still unknown in a forested area near one of the park entrances and emergency teams immediately went to the scene of the accident Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni sent her condolences via X: "I express my deepest condolences for the accident of an Italian Air Force plane near the Circeo National Park. My condolences, and those of the Government, to the families of the victims, to the Italian Air Force and to the entire Ministry of Defense." Also, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Antonio Tajani, expressed his sorrow on the same social network: "I am deeply dismayed by the loss of two soldiers involved in a tragic air accident this morning in Sabaudia."
