Caracas.- The Venezuelan government warned this Tuesday that the United States plans to send "a missile cruiser" and "a fast attack nuclear submarine" to the coasts of the South American country next week, among other "warships" deployed in the Caribbean Sea, as part, it pointed out, of the "hostile actions" of the Administration of President Donald Trump.
The Permanent Mission of Venezuela to the United Nations denounced in a communication "the escalation of hostile actions and threats from the Government of the United States of America", and assured that the deployment in the Caribbean of ships such as "the USS Lake Erie, a missile cruiser, and the USS Newport News, a fast attack nuclear submarine", represents "a serious threat to regional peace and security".

In that sense, it warns that the arrival of these ships "to the Venezuelan coasts is scheduled for the beginning of next week, according to what has been confirmed by various international sources", which does not specify the mission in the text, shared on Telegram by the Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Communication, Yván Gil and Freddy Ñáñez, respectively.
