United States. Friday's day in the Major Leagues had wide Dominican prominence, with outstanding performances by Juan Soto, Eury Pérez, Cristopher Sánchez and Manny Machado.
In Miami, the Miami Marlins defeated the New York Mets 2-1 thanks to a solid outing by Eury Pérez, who worked 6.1 innings with just two hits and five strikeouts to earn his third win of the season.
The only damage allowed by the law was a solo home run by Juan Soto in the first inning. The Mets outfielder hit a 449-foot shot to reach 10 home runs in the campaign and maintain his great offensive moment, with six home runs in his last nine games.
Meanwhile, in Philadelphia, Cristopher Sánchez continued to make history despite the Philadelphia Phillies' 1-0 defeat to the Cleveland Guardians.
The Dominican lefty pitched eight scoreless innings and extended his streak to 37.2 innings without allowing runs, the second longest in franchise history since 1893. Sánchez struck out six batters and allowed just four hits, solidifying himself as one of the most dominant pitchers of the moment in the Majors.
In San Diego, the San Diego Padres defeated the Oakland Athletics 7-3 with offensive contributions from Manny Machado and Ramón Laureano.
Machado hit a two-run homer in the first inning to bring his season total to eight, while Laureano broke the tie in the seventh inning with a solo home run, his sixth of the year.
Dominican reliever Adrián Morejón earned the victory after dominating a complicated situation with the bases loaded in the sixth inning.
