TBS Distrito 2025 suspends this Friday's activities due to adverse weather conditions

Santo Domingo. The Organizing Committee of the Superior Basketball Tournament of the National District (TBS Distrito 2025) announced the suspension of the double header scheduled for the night of this Friday, corresponding to the 49th edition of the championship, due to adverse weather conditions affecting a large part of the national territory.

Since early Thursday morning and throughout the morning of this Friday, large areas of the country have been affected by constant rains, the result of the incidence of an upper-level trough and a mass of air with high moisture content. The Dominican Institute of Meteorology (Indomet), in its most recent bulletin, warned that these conditions will continue to generate moderate to heavy showers, thunderstorms and wind gusts in several provinces during the next few hours, which represents a risk to the safe development of sporting activities. The suspended day contemplated an attractive double header at the Virgilio Travieso Soto Sports Palace, starting at 7:00 p.m. with the match between El Millón and Bameso, followed by the match between San Lázaro and Rafael Barias, matches that generate great expectation among the capital fans. The Organizing Committee, in coordination with the Technical Directorate of the event, highlighted that the decision to suspend the matches responds to the commitment to safeguard the integrity of players, referees, coaches, logistical staff and attending public, placing safety above any competitive interest. It was also reported that in the coming days the official rescheduling of the replacement date will be announced, guaranteeing full compliance with the tournament calendar. Finally, the Organizing Committee and the National District Basketball Association (Abadina) urged fans to stay tuned to the official channels of the TBS Distrito 2025, where updates on the restart of activities and the development of the championship will be offered, reaffirming their commitment to offer a quality sporting spectacle, with organization, security and respect for the basketball-loving public.

Sunday's Day

The TBS District 2025 resumes this Sunday with its fifth date of celebration of regular season matches and on this occasion corresponding to group A.

At 4:00 PM, the teams of Los Prados and Mauricio Báez will face each other, and in the second game, at 6:00 PM, San Carlos will clash against Huellas del Siglo.
