San Cristóbal. The Titanes del Sur sealed their pass to the final of the LNB Super League 2025 after completing a 3-0 sweep over the Leones de Santo Domingo, by defeating them 91-76 this Thursday at the Polideportivo de San Cristóbal. With this victory, the Titans qualify for their fourth final in the last five years, reaffirming their recent dominance in Dominican professional basketball.
After a first half in which the Lions went to the break with a 51-42 lead, the Titans staged a spectacular comeback in the third quarter, surpassing the scarlet team 29-11 with a suffocating defense and precise offensive execution.
Point guard Jassel Pérez led the attack with 19 points, five rebounds, five assists, and five steals. He was followed by Jonathan Araujo (18 points and six rebounds), Luis David Montero (17 points and six rebounds), and Richard Bautista, who recorded a double-double with 15 points, six rebounds, and 10 assists. Xavier Reyes (12 points) and Tyran De Lattibeaudiere (10 points and six rebounds) also contributed.
For the Leones, who did not have the injured Trahson Burrel, Sterling Manley was the most outstanding with 21 points. Jayson Valdez added 13 points, Gerardo Suero 11 and Brayan Saviñón 10.
The Titans shot for 55% from the field, with 32 rebounds, 25 assists, and only 10 turnovers. For their part, the Lions shot for 49%, grabbed the same number of rebounds (32), but committed 12 turnovers and only dished out 16 assists.
During halftime, the league president, Antonio Mir, presented Richard Bautista with the Defensive Player of the Year award, recognizing his impact on both sides of the court during the season.
The final series will begin next week, meanwhile, this Friday the Metros de Santiago receive the Indios de San Francisco de Macorís in the third game of the A semifinal, from 8:00 p.m. at the Gran Arena del Cibao Oscar Gobaira.
