Santo Domingo.– The Dominican Institute of Telecommunications (INDOTEL) announced its support for the digital platform “Ojo Cívico”, a technological tool aimed at facilitating citizens' access to relevant data on public officials, thus strengthening the culture of transparency and democratic participation.
During a press conference, the president of the Board of Directors of INDOTEL, Guido Gómez Mazara, highlighted that this initiative represents a significant advance in institutional strengthening. "With Civic Eye we take a firm step towards a more participatory democracy. Citizens have the right to know how their representatives act, and this platform allows that access in a clear, useful and reliable way," he expressed.
Gómez Mazara explained that, although public information is legally available, it is often dispersed, complex, or not very accessible to the average citizen.
“Esta brecha limita la rendición de cuentas. Con esta propuesta tecnológica, el acceso se vuelve más eficiente y democrático”,
puntualizó.
Ojo Cívico, created by Jeralvi Mendoza Manzanillo, organizes public data into detailed profiles that allow consulting the patrimonial evolution of officials, their attendance at Congress, legislative initiatives, and presence in the media.
One of the most innovative elements of the platform is the use of artificial intelligence, which identifies and flags with "red flags" the news that may involve ethical alerts or questionable conduct by officials.

afirmó Mendoza Manzanillo.
