Santo Domingo. - The Emergency Operations Center (COE) maintains 08 provinces and the National District on red alert, increases 13 on yellow and maintains 03 on green, due to the fact that Tropical Storm Melissa, No. 13 of this 2025 Hurricane Season, was located approximately 485 kilometers southwest of Port-au-Prince (Haiti).
It is moving slowly west/northwest at about 6 km/h and is expected to begin moving northwest and north/northwest and has maximum sustained winds of about 85 km/h with higher gusts and gradual strengthening is forecast in the following days.

Duarte In that sense, people are advised to refrain from crossing rivers, streams, and ravines that present high volumes of water in the provinces under alert. Similarly, on the Atlantic and Caribbean coasts, operators of fragile, small and medium-sized vessels are advised to remain in port due to wind, dangerous waves, as well as heavy downpours and thunderstorms. Similarly, on the Atlantic and Caribbean coasts, civil protection agencies are instructed to take all necessary preventive measures to preserve the lives of users of said coast, due to probable breakers and rip currents.
