New York.- A magnitude 6 earthquake shook Alaska this Thursday without causing any deaths or apparent damage, according to the United States Geological Survey (USGS).
The earthquake originated at 8:11 a.m. Alaska time, about eleven kilometers northwest of Susitna and was also felt in Anchorage, the state's largest city, according to the agency.
Moments after the earthquake occurred, the National Tsunami Warning Center reported on social media that a tsunami was not expected.
Also, for now there have been no reports of damage or deaths from the earthquake, according to the Alaska State Police confirmed to ABC News.
For its part, the Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities indicated on its Facebook profile that it is carrying out "inspections of roads, bridges, airports and tunnels" after the earthquake, but assured that it is unlikely that these will affect traffic.
