Santo Domingo.– President Luis Abinader stated that the Dominican Republic has the necessary energy infrastructure to guarantee the electricity supply and respond to the growth in demand in the coming years, thanks to the investments made in generation and electrical transmission.
The president highlighted that the country has significantly strengthened its installed generation capacity, which will allow maintaining the stability of the energy system and supporting national economic development. Likewise, he pointed out that strategic projects aimed at expanding and modernizing the electricity grid are still being executed.
Abinader explained that the investments driven by the Government and the private sector have allowed the incorporation of new generation capacity to the electrical system, with an increasing participation of renewable sources such as solar and wind energy.
The Head of State indicated that the country's installed capacity has experienced considerable growth in recent years, strengthening national energy security and creating conditions to meet the increase in residential, commercial, and industrial consumption.
