Santo Domingo. – ALK Global Logistic CEO, Alfonso Alemán, explained this Wednesday that the arrival of the first Amazon Air flight to the Dominican Republic responds to an air cargo services scheme available to companies and agencies, with direct routes between Santo Domingo and Miami.
"The arrival of the plane is basically providing capacity services from the United States to Santo Domingo and the same in Santo Domingo, Miami. This service is available to any company, agency, that wants to use the space available in these segments," Alemán detailed during the reception at Las Américas International Airport.
The executive clarified that the agreement established is exclusively with Amazon Air Cargo, the airline division of the e-commerce giant, and not with its retail sales area.
"It is very important to emphasize that the agreement we have is with Amazon Air Cargo, the airline division, and it is very important to be clear that at this time we are not interested in door-to-door delivery," he pointed out.
With this precision, Alemán indicated that the service seeks to strengthen logistical connectivity between the Dominican Republic and the United States, expanding the alternatives for international cargo transport without being confused with the direct-to-consumer delivery model.
