Alleged criminal “Cris El Solitario” dies during raid in Santiago

Santiago de los Caballeros. – The National Police reported this Tuesday that a man identified as Cristofer Paredes, known as “Cris El Solitario” and identified as the alleged perpetrator of multiple armed robberies, died during an operation carried out by agents of the Central Investigation Directorate (Dicrim), in coordination with the Public Ministry. The intervention took place in a home in the Los Santos sector, in compliance with a search warrant and an arrest warrant issued by the authorities, with the aim of arresting him. According to the preliminary report, the individual was wanted for his alleged involvement in several robberies that occurred in sectors such as Gurabo, El Paraíso, Las Colinas, Cerro Alto and Tierra Alta, among other points in the city.

During the operation, authorities indicated that the man had allegedly tried to confront the agents using one of the weapons he was carrying, which provoked a response from the acting officers. As a result, he was injured and subsequently died while receiving medical attention at a health center. In the scene, authorities seized two firearms, including a 9-millimeter pistol, without legal documentation, in addition to a blank gun. The evidence was placed under the custody of the Public Prosecutor's Office for the corresponding purposes. Also, three motorcycles were seized which, according to police records, had been reported as stolen and allegedly used in the commission of criminal acts. Coats and several wallets that had been stolen from victims during the assaults were also recovered.

Investigations indicate that several of the events attributed to the deceased were captured by surveillance cameras, which facilitated his identification and subsequent location. The police report also states that the individual had been involved in episodes of gender-based violence and had recently been released from prison, where he was serving a sentence for his alleged involvement in a homicide case. Authorities reported that investigations continue to identify and apprehend other possible individuals involved in these criminal acts.
