NEW YORK - The basketball muscle remains strong among the children and youth of the Lawrence, Massachusetts (Boston) representation, who swept the Juan Pablo Duarte NY 2025 Sports Games, winning four gold medals in the four categories they played, 12, 14, 16 and 18 years old, undefeated, on the second day of competitions of the successful games that began last Friday, August 15th. Each of the four quintets from Lawrence, Massachusetts, (Boston), represented by the organization "Sueños Basquetball" Sports Education, run by Dominicans José Diloné and Jackeline Marte Diloné, and under the guidance of coaches Anthony Ventura, Ulianow Luperón and Joel Thimbalanga, each of the teams finished undefeated with 6-0, exhibiting a deep quality in this sport.

Men's Athletics

In the Sunday's event, the athletics discipline opened its competitions with more than 100 participants and closed after a long day of competition. In a test run, a 5-kilometer race on flat terrain, with the participation of 67 athletes, men's master category, Luis Almonte, (La Piraña), from the El Bronx team, conquered the Gold, by registering an official time of 0:20:19.

Dennis Bautista, with a time of 0:21:23, from the New Jersey team, took the Silver medal and Víctor Rosa, from the Manhhatan team, conquered the Bronze, finishing in third place with an official time of 0:22:22.

Female Master Category

Ariela Ortiz, from the El Bronx team, won the Gold medal, with an official time of 0:22:50.
Cristina Rodríguez, from the New Jersey team, took the Silver medal, after reaching the finish line at 0:24:55 and Beneranda Ávila, from El Bronx, Bronze medal, with a time of 0:25:50. In the women's 400-meter flat race, Ambar Fulgencio soared high, conquering the Gold medal. Infants and juveniles also ran in the two branches, male and female. The competition took place at Van Cortland Park Running Track, in The Bronx, with David Núñez, race director.

Women's Volleyball

The modern court of Gregorio Luperón High School in Upper Manhattan (Washington Heights) served as the setting for the beginning of this discipline. The Manhattan girls obtained two victories on Sunday morning by defeating Brooklyn 3-0 and Queens, 2-1.
