Bogotá. – Colombia continues to strengthen its position as a tourist destination, registering the arrival of 1.9 million international visitors in the first five months of 2025, which represents a growth of 6.6% compared to the same period of the previous year, and 42% more than in the pre-pandemic stage.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Bogotá was the main destination, concentrating 35% of international tourism, followed by Antioquia with 25% and Bolívar with 20%. Other destinations with less participation were Valle del Cauca with 4.71%, followed by the archipelago of San Andrés and Providencia with 3.3%.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that the government of President Gustavo Petro has focused efforts on positioning tourism as a key driver for economic development, social inclusion, and the global projection of the country.

In that line, more than 188.35 billion Colombian pesos (about 47 million dollars) have been allocated in international promotion actions, through ProColombia and the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism, with the aim of consolidating Colombia as a safe and attractive destination. In terms of air connectivity, the country reached almost 18 million passengers on scheduled flights during the first four months of the year, an increase of 3.4% compared to 2024 and 21.4% compared to 2023. International flight traffic also showed an increase of 8.8% in the same period.
