DINTEL La Vega conducts three raids and seizes a firearm, ammunition, and illegal merchandise

Members of the Regional Intelligence Sub-Directorate (DINTEL) La Vega, in coordination with the Public Ministry, carried out on the morning of Tuesday, December 16, 2025, three simultaneous raids in different sectors of the municipality of La Vega, achieving the seizure of weapons, ammunition, controlled substances, and merchandise of illegal origin. In the first operation, the residence of Leandro Gómez Martínez, alias “El Compa”, located in the Villa Flores Los Pomos sector, was raided. At the scene, the authorities seized two daggers, a marijuana grinder, seven capsules —six .40 caliber and one 9-millimeter caliber—, twenty SIM cards from the Claro company, and a marijuana cigarette. The second raid was carried out at the home of John Manuel Riveras Pichardo, in the Palmarito sector, where 5,760 units of Capital brand cigarettes, 486 units of the Jaisalmer brand, and a box of fireworks were seized. In a third operation, the authorities raided the residence of Waldy Joel Vargas Adames, in the El Paraíso sector, La Vega municipality. During the search, a Glock 19 pistol, light brown in color, without any legal documentation, with a magazine for 31 cartridges and thirty rounds of ammunition was seized. All evidence seized in the three raids is under the custody of the Public Ministry for investigation purposes and the corresponding legal processes. Authorities reported that they continue to expand intelligence efforts in La Vega province, as part of the efforts to strengthen citizen security and public order.
