The Dominican Republic consumes between 150 and 160 thousand barrels of fuel daily, most of which arrive refined and processed in the country and are only dispatched to the different retailers and consumers.
Of that consumption, about 30 thousand barrels of fuel per day are refined by the Dominican Petroleum Refinery (REFIDOMSA), according to the president of this company, Samuel Pereyra.
This means that about 120 thousand barrels per day already arrive refined and ready for use and commercialization in the country.
Likewise, Pereyra reported that there is no risk of supply for either the short or medium term, despite the war conflict taking place in the Middle East.
"In the short and medium term, the country should not have any problem in terms of supply, the Refinery is supplying regularly," said Pereyra.
He pointed out that regarding supply, the country can be calm, and expressed optimism that the conflict in the Middle East could have a solution in the short term.
