Driver survives after his vehicle plunges from a bridge on the Eastern Highway

La Romana. — A driver miraculously survived after the jeep he was traveling in fell from a bridge on the Autovía del Este, near the entrance to the Casa de Campo tourist complex, amid the heavy rains affecting the area. According to preliminary information, the vehicle hit the bridge railings before plunging into the void, being completely destroyed after the strong impact. Despite the magnitude of the accident, the driver managed to get out alive, being seen walking after what happened, which has generated astonishment among witnesses of the event. The incident was recorded in a context of heavy rainfall that has caused dangerous conditions on the roads of the province of La Romana, increasing the risk of traffic accidents. Authorities reiterated the call to the population to drive with extreme caution, especially during rain, as visibility decreases and roads become slippery in a matter of seconds.
