Grief and demand for justice after security guard’s death in pharmacy robbery in San Isidro

San Isidro, Santo Domingo Este.- Relatives of Mr. Leónidas Morillo Contreras, 71 years old, asked this Tuesday for a deeper investigation to find all those responsible for his death, which occurred during a robbery at a pharmacy in San Isidro, Santo Domingo Este.

The incident was recorded when unknown individuals perpetrated a robbery at the establishment, where the security guard was shot dead while performing his duties. According to recent reports, one of the alleged perpetrators was shot dead after confronting the authorities, while the search for another involved person continues. The statements were offered to the communicator Daniel Merán from the Public Works sector, in Los Alcarrizos, where the body of Mr. Morillo Contreras is being watched, who will receive Christian burial on the afternoon of this Tuesday in the municipal cemetery.

His family defined him as a hardworking man dedicated to his family, who worked for 25 years as a security guard in this last job, remaining active even at the age of 71, “like when he was a young man.”
