In the presence of family members and public figures, the remains of Carlos Batista Matos are being mourned.

Santo Domingo.– From 5 p.m. this Tuesday, the remains of the renowned communicator Carlos Batista Matos were displayed at the Blandino Funeral Home on Abraham Lincoln Avenue, in Santo Domingo, who died on Monday, according to his relatives, after being found in his apartment in the El Vergel sector of the Dominican capital. Leading figures from the media, politics, and the Dominican entertainment industry attended the funeral home, who expressed, in conversations with De Último Minuto, their sadness and sorrow for the death of who they consider one of the figures with the greatest contribution to communication in the Dominican Republic. Among those present were congresswoman Selinee Méndez; the renowned artist, his ex-wife and mother of his daughter, Belkis Concepción; merengue singer Eddy Herrera, humorist and singer Julio Zabala, as well as journalists Alicia Ortega, Héctor Gómez and Marivell Contreras, president of Acroarte, among other members of the guild. Also attending were artists Eddy Herrera, Julio Zabala and communicators Sharmín Díaz, Idelsa Núñez, Tamara Martínez and Brenda Sánchez, among other members of the guild.

To these was added Ángel Laureano, director of Color Visión, who shared how difficult the loss of Carlos Batista Matos has been for that television station.


"It was a hard loss for the whole Color Visión family; Carlos was an important asset to the media," he expressed.


The figures present agreed that Batista Matos was an admired and respected professional, with a significant legacy in the country's media. They noted that his death mourns not only the industry, but also the Dominican people in general, highlighting that he was a figure with a very low rejection rate.

Funeral honors will continue this Wednesday from 10:00 in the morning to 10:00 at night. A Mass will be held on Thursday at 10:00 in the morning, and, subsequently, Christian burial will be given at 11:00 in the morning at the Puerta del Cielo Cemetery.
