Man stabbed to death during argument with ex-wife's partner in Navarrete

Santiago.- A 40-year-old man lost his life after receiving several stab wounds during an argument with the current partner of his ex-wife, in a violent incident that occurred on Sunday night in the San Miguel neighborhood of the Navarrete municipality, Santiago province. The victim was identified as Kelvin Reyes, who, according to his family, received at least four stab wounds in different parts of the body, which caused his death. According to versions offered by relatives, the incident occurred after 9:00 p.m., amid a confrontation related to personal and family conflicts. Albertino Reyes, father of the deceased, stated that on repeated occasions he had advised his son to stay away from the woman with whom he had three children, considering that the relationship was conflictive.

For her part, Juaquelin Gómez, Kelvin Reyes' stepmother, deeply regretted what had happened and pointed out that the family had also suggested to the deceased that he distance himself from that situation to avoid further problems. He also indicated that the woman linked to the case is in custody for investigation purposes. Law enforcement authorities and the Public Ministry are keeping investigations open to clarify the circumstances of the event, establish responsibilities, and proceed in accordance with the law. Meanwhile, the event has caused consternation among residents of the San Miguel sector, where the tragic incident occurred.
