MINERD will open 5,153 teaching positions for the 2025-2026 school year

Santo Domingo.- In preparation for the start of the 2025-2026 school year, the Ministry of Education of the Dominican Republic (MINERD) announced the availability of 5,153 teaching positions nationwide. These vacancies will be open through a virtual platform designed for applicants who are part of the Eligible Candidates Bank.

A total of 6,804 eligible candidates will be able to self-apply voluntarily for the positions that best fit their profile, geographic location, and family situation. This innovative digital tool is part of the policies of transparency, equity, and efficiency promoted by the Minister of Education, Luis Miguel De Camps.

The new platform, developed by the Technology Department of MINERD in conjunction with the Vice Ministry of Accreditation and Teacher Certification, will be available soon on the official portal of the Ministry: www.ministeriodeeducacion.gob.do. The launch will be accompanied by an information campaign through institutional channels to ensure that applicants know the steps of the process.

One of the main novelties of this modality is that it allows applicants to directly choose the vacancies of their preference in the different regional and educational districts of the country, fostering greater autonomy in accessing jobs within the public education system.

With this measure, the MINERD seeks to exhaust the Eligible Registry before convening a new Teacher Opposition Contest, giving priority to those who have already successfully passed the previous evaluations.
