Santo Domingo. – The National Police safely retained in the tourist district of Bayahibe a young woman who, according to preliminary information, would be Yessica Pamela Cruz Valenzuela, 20 years old, who had been reported missing by her family after leaving her residence in the Pantojas sector, in Santo Domingo Oeste.

According to reports provided by her relatives, the young woman left on the afternoon of the past day with a destination towards kilometer 14 of the Duarte highway, but from that moment on, there was no information about her arrival at that place or about her whereabouts, which generated great concern among her relatives.

The family members explained that Yessica Pamela is a social, calm young woman with good family behavior, so they considered it unusual for her to be absent without notice. Given the situation, they initiated an intense search that included visits to hospitals, police detachments, and contact with several of her friends, without managing to obtain clues about her whereabouts.

However, this Wednesday it transpired that police agents in Bayahibe located and detained a young woman who allegedly matches the description of the missing person. According to preliminary information, the young woman is in good health.

Authorities indicated that the corresponding procedures are being carried out to officially confirm her identity and coordinate her transfer, in order to reunite her with her family.

The case remains under verification by the competent authorities to clarify the circumstances in which the young woman moved from Santo Domingo to the tourist area of Bayahibe.
