Santo Domingo.- Accepting the request of the Public Ministry, the Judicial Office of Permanent Attention Services of Santo Domingo Oeste imposed three months of preventive detention on a man accused of sexually assaulting a 73-year-old woman, in an event that occurred on September 4 in the Manoguayabo sector.
The defendant, identified as Samuel Aquino and/or Samuel Moreta, must comply with the coercive measure at the Correction and Rehabilitation Center (CCR) of Monte Plata.
The investigation is being led by prosecutor Brenda Reyes, to whom the victim reported that the accused showed up at her home asking for a glass of water and, when she turned her back, threatened her with a knife and took her to her room, where he sexually assaulted her.

During the struggle, the victim was injured in the left hand, an injury that required suturing at a health center and was documented in the forensic medical certificate.
Likewise, a psychological report details that the lady presents indicators of high-intensity anxiety, stress, and constant worry as a consequence of the aggression.
The Public Ministry has provisionally classified the events as aggravated sexual assault, which constitutes a violation of articles 309 and 331 of the Dominican Penal Code, to the detriment of the victim, whose name is omitted to avoid re-victimization.
