President Abinader announces new phase of government with changes in the government train

Santo Domingo.– The President of the Republic, Luis Abinader, announced the beginning of a new stage of his administration, aimed at consolidating a transformation that guarantees a better future and a higher quality of life for all Dominicans, for which he ordered a series of changes in the government team. In a message addressed to the country through its social media, the president informed that during this week there will be new appointments, rotations, and ratifications of officials who accompany him in the conduct of the State, as part of a process of reordering and strengthening public management. “The country will see this week new appointments, rotations, and ratifications of the officials who accompany me”, expressed the head of state, indicating that these decisions respond to the vision of leaving a sustainable transformation with a real impact on the lives of citizens. The president Abinader recalled that this process began with two important appointments announced the previous day. Doctor Jorge Subero Isa was named Legal Consultant to the Executive Branch, while Doctor Antoliano Peralta, who held that position, was appointed Minister of Justice.

Likewise, the president announced Decree No. 2-26, through which new changes are introduced in strategic areas of the Government. Among them, the designation of Francisco Oliverio Espaillat Bencosme as Minister of Agriculture stands out; the appointment of Gloria Roely Reyes Gómez as Minister of Women, the designation of Mayra Jiménez as director of Social Development Supérate, the appointment of Geanilda Vásquez as coordinator of the Social Policy Cabinet, and the designation of Pedro Porfirio Urrutia Sangiovanni as general director of the General Directorate of Internal Taxes (DGII). The decree also provides for the repeal of articles of previous decrees, as part of the institutional reorganization process, and orders its submission to the Court of Auditors, the Comptroller General of the Republic, the Ministry of Public Administration and other corresponding institutions for their knowledge and execution. Seven hours later, by Decree No. 3-26, he appointed Víctor Orlando Bisonó Haza as Minister of Housing, Habitat and Buildings; Eduardo Sanz Lovatón as Minister of Industry, Commerce and Mipymes, and Nelson de Jesús Arroyo Perdomo as Director General of Customs.
