Pucmm dominates university baseball tournament

Santo Domingo.- The Pontificia Universidad Católica Santo Domingo (Pucmm) team came out on top in the two games played in the day corresponding to the fourth version of the University Baseball League, a contest organized by the Directorate of the National Baseball Commissioner (DCNB), in dispute of the BanReservas Cup. Pucmm students defeated Itla in their first game with a score of 10 runs to 3 and UASD in the second with a score of 4 to 3.

Luis Hernández scored the first victory for Pucmm and Bernie Orozco won the second. The losing pitchers were Hansel Reynoso and Anderson Martínez. The most outstanding for the winners were Albert Martínez with a pair of doubles, Daniel Morel with a triple and a single, Wilbert Pérez with a double and a hit. For Itla, Omar Hiraldo, home run and hit and for the Uasdianos Edixon Alcántara with a double and a single. Also, in other games of the day, La Uce defeated Utesa 9-6, a match in which Fausto Santana scored the victory and Joryi Montero was the loser. Rider Rincón with a double was the best with the stake for the winners, while José Ramón hit two singles for Utesa. Ucateba defeated Unapec 10-5, with Cristopher Medina as the winner and Elián Barrera as the loser. La O&M scored 4 runs to Itla's 3. Ariel Suero was the victor and Luis Delgado tasted defeat, while Unisa crushed Uce 12-2, with Erick Amparo achieving success and Samir Ramírez being the loser. Andy Peña hit a double and 3 singles for the winners, Edyson Ferreiras, and Miguel Angel Jiménez each had two hits.
