The Scooby-Doo franchise will have a new animated adaptation set in Japan. The platform Tubi announced the development of Yokoso Scooby-Doo!, a production by Warner Bros. Animation that will mark the franchise's first official foray into the anime format.
The series will be broadcast by Tubi in the United States, while Cartoon Network will handle its international broadcast. The title incorporates the Japanese word “Yokoso,” which means “welcome.”
The production will feature animation services from OLM Studios, a Japanese studio recognized for participating in various anime projects. The direction will be in charge of Itsuro Kawasaki, while Francisco Paredes will work as a co-producer.
According to the official synopsis, the story will follow Shaggy and Scooby during a trip to Japan described as "the ultimate gastronomic adventure." The characters will once again feature the voices of Frank Welker and Matthew Lillard, who have previously participated in different versions of the franchise.
