The 68th edition of the Grammys will be broadcast live on CBS Television Network and Paramount+.
Los Ángeles.- The Recording Academy announced that the 68th edition of the Grammy Awards will take place on February 1, 2026 and will incorporate two new categories. The new awards are for best country album and best contemporary country album, and it was announced that the nominated artists will be announced on November 7, while the eligibility period for the projects will be from August 31, 2024 to August 30, 2025. The Academy thus assured that the category for best country album will be duplicated, a measure that comes after the victory of Beyoncé in the last edition of the Grammys, where she won the award for best country album for 'Cowboy Carter', an album deeply influenced by the genre, but which also fuses elements of R&B and electronic music. You can also read: Residente receives GRAMMY for Best Urban Music Album | De Último Minuto
In addition, the musical institution added the category for best album cover and merged two existing awards, best recording package and best box or special limited edition package, into a single distinction now named best recording package. The eligibility criteria for Best New Artist, one of the four most coveted categories, was also expanded, now including those who have participated in Album of the Year-nominated projects, provided their contribution does not exceed 20% of the total playback time. The first round of voting will take place from October 3rd to 15th, while the final will take place from December 12th to January 5th.
