Montevideo.– A new political party called La Libertad Avanza was formally registered in Uruguay, marking its official debut with a message of support from the Minister of Security of Argentina, Patricia Bullrich, who celebrated the expansion of the libertarian movement in the region.
“I want to send a big greeting to our Uruguayan brothers, who have just registered the party La Libertad Avanza in Uruguay. The path has already been opened, the way has already been opened for freedom to arrive with all its force to Uruguay, our brother country,” expressed Bullrich in a video broadcast through the official account of the party on the social network X. She also added her best wishes for the launch of the movement before the Uruguayan Electoral Court.
The group, which takes its name from the political space led by the Argentine president Javier Milei, took its first public step days ago by submitting the required signatures to the Electoral Court, accompanying the act with the message: “Today begins the reconstruction of the country. The first step for Uruguay to be free”.

This Monday, in a press conference covered by the Public Media, Nicolás Quintana, member of the new party, explained that La Libertad Avanza in Uruguay defines itself as “an alliance of liberals and libertarians, conservatives and patriots”, and acknowledged the direct inspiration of the political project currently governing in Argentina.
“Uruguay is a country different from Argentina, with another type of challenges, but we have the same problem: we are dying because of socialism, we are dying from collectivist ideologies,” Quintana stated. In that sense, he maintained that “the medicine for that ailment is freedom.”
The party's registration takes place in a regional context marked by the advance of liberal and anti-statist political forces, and opens a new chapter in Uruguayan politics in the run-up to the next electoral processes.
