La Altagracia.- Deputies belonging to the Permanent Commission of Municipal Affairs, chaired by Elías Matos, visited the community of Benerito, where they held a public hearing with the purpose of hearing the opinion of its residents on the proposal to elevate it from a hamlet to a section, an initiative submitted by the deputy Carmen De la Rosa, representative of the province. During the visit, important needs of the community were exposed, including the construction of a second-level hospital, the expansion or construction of a new school, the creation of a municipal cemetery in accordance with the current population, and the improvement in the quality of the electrical service, fundamental for the development and well-being of its inhabitants. The representatives pledged to raise their voices to promote concrete solutions that guarantee better living conditions for the community members. The residents are convinced that Benerito should not only be elevated to a section, but also has the necessary conditions to project itself as a future municipal district.

It is worth noting that, while the legislators were meeting, in the front dozens of representatives of peasant associations and organizations from La Playita de Yuma were protesting with signs in hand, demanding from the Ministry of Public Works and the Ministry of Tourism the completion of the road, longed for for years for the development of that hardworking and thriving community.
