Santiago.- Santiago will be the scene this December 25th of the first great Christmas parade of the Dominican Republic, with the staging of “Un Príncipe de Navidad”, an unprecedented show that will tour the main streets of the historic center of the city.
According to the organizers, the parade seeks to rescue and celebrate Dominican Christmas traditions through music, art, and color, while positioning Santiago as a benchmark Christmas destination in the country.
The event is scheduled from 4:00 in the afternoon until 7:00 at night.
"We want to offer families a free, safe, and cultural space to share, strengthening the sense of belonging, union, and hope that characterizes Christmas," explained Garcia during the presentation of the project.
The central axis of the show will be The Prince of Christmas, designated as the Official Ambassador of Christmas in Santiago, a figure created especially to symbolize the nobility, illusion, peace, and family unity of this time.
The public will enjoy a wide artistic display that will include themed floats, harlequins and theatrical characters, Santa Claus troupes, stilts, as well as more than 250 festive characters, including children's figures, musicians, dancers and live performances, with sound and visual ambiance throughout the tour.
The parade route will begin on Benito Monción street, continue along Del Sol street and Cuba street, and conclude in the Los Pepines sector, covering important arteries of the urban center of the Heart City.
For her part, Julissa Núñez, in charge of marketing for the project, reported that the event will have the support of the National Police, Civil Defense, Digesett and the National Emergency Attention System 911, in addition to the sponsorship of the Mayor's Office of Santiago, the Provincial Government, the Senatorial Office of Santiago, the Vice Presidency of the Republic, Banreservas and the Ministry of Education.
The First Great Christmas Parade of the Dominican Republic promises to become a magical and unforgettable experience, marking a milestone in the country's Christmas celebrations and consolidating Santiago as the epicenter of Dominican Christmas.
The activity will be broadcast live on Teleuniverso Channel 29 and Full 94.1 FM, it is conceived as a high-level family show, inspired by the great Christmas parades of the world and with the projection of becoming an annual tradition.
