“Today we recognize those who have dedicated a large part of their working lives to the service of this city. They are an example of responsibility and permanence in public service,” Rodríguez expressed, highlighting that from the planning of the event he decided to include this tribute as a way of valuing the commitment and dedication of public servants.

During his speech, the mayor also recalled the historical significance of Labor Day, pointing out that this date is more than a celebration: it is a commemoration of the labor struggles initiated with tragic events in Europe, England, and the United States, particularly in Chicago.

The recognitions were delivered in the form of parchments, as a symbol of institutional gratitude for the contributions made over the years and the consistency in their respective functions.
