UASD, UNAPEC, PUCMM, and UCATEBA advance to the semifinals of the University Baseball League.

The four teams recorded the best records in the regular season of the fourth version of the University Baseball League, an event organized by the DCNB Santo Domingo.- The teams from UASD, UNAPEC, PUCMM, and UCATEBA advanced to the semifinals of the fourth edition of the University Baseball League, after finishing with the best records during the regular season of the tournament, which is organized by the Directorate of the National Baseball Commissioner (DCNB), in the option for the BanReservas Cup. The top three universities dominated their respective groups, while Ucateba advanced to the next phase after finishing with the best second place among the remaining six teams. In the general standings, Ucateba had tied with O&M, both with 7-5 in the South region and the classification had to be decided by the rules of the tournament. The first of these would be determined by the record between the two, however the teams split honors in their two meetings.

This determined that it went to the second line, the goal average, which gave the advantage to Ucateba, a team that allowed 11 runs from its rival O&M, on the other hand, scored 14 in its two matches, a fact that ultimately gave it its classification. Uasd dominated the South region with a 9-3 record, Unapec led the way in the East also with 9-3 and Pucmm finished with 7-5, being first in the North. The semifinals are scheduled to start this weekend. Junior Noboa, director of the DCNB, greatly appreciates the support being given to this fourth version of the University Baseball League by the Ministry of the Presidency, in the person of its minister José Manuel Paliza, as well as BanReservas, Farmacia GBC, Comedores Económicos and Bandex.

Results

The last day of the regular season yielded the following results: La Uasd defeated Itla 13-3 and Unapec 4-1, La O&M thrashed Unisa 12-1, Ucateba obtained three victories, 6-1 against Uce, 11 runs to 2 against O&M and 15-5 against Unisa. From their side, Unapec scored 3 to 2 against Pucmm and Utesa defeated Itla 13 to 10.
