President Luis Abinader issued decree no. 475-25, in which Jorge Radhamés Zorrilla Ozuna was appointed as the general director of the General Directorate of Border Development (DGDF).
After supporting the re-election of President Luis Abinader in 2024, Zorrilla Ozuna, president of the Civic Renovator Party (PCR), has reiterated on several occasions that he is awaiting an appointment to be part of the current government.
The former senator had complained about the delay in appointments, however, as of this Friday, he is part of the Government.
And remember that on October 23, 2023, Zorilla Ozuna made President Luis Abinader swear that if re-elected he would appoint him to the government train, a request that has come true.
The General Directorate of Border Development (DGDF) is a dependency of the Social Policy Coordination Cabinet, an organization created in Decree 443-00 in the year 2000, with the purpose of contributing to the promotion of agricultural and industrial use of the border provinces: Dajabón, Montecristi, Elías Piña, Independencia, Pedernales, Santiago Rodríguez and Bahoruco.
