Police capture "Cacón", implicated in assault on students caught on video in SDE

Santo Domingo Este.- The National Police reported the capture of a man identified as one of the alleged perpetrators of an assault against two students, which occurred in broad daylight and whose video was widely circulated on social media. This is Alex Méndez Batista, alias “Cacón”, 31 years old, who was arrested in the Ensanche Isabelita sector, in Santo Domingo Este. According to preliminary reports, the detainee allegedly admitted his participation in the criminal act, which he allegedly committed along with another individual identified only as "Amarfy", who remains at large, so the authorities are actively searching for him.

The law enforcement institution indicated that the detainee will be placed at the disposal of the Public Prosecutor's Office, for the corresponding legal purposes, while efforts continue to locate the second person involved.
