Abinader appoints Catalino Correa Hiciano as new general manager of Bandex

Santo Domingo.- President Luis Abinader appointed Catalino Correa Hiciano as general manager of the Development and Export Bank (Bandex), through decree 498-25, replacing Juan Alberto Mustafá Michel. Correa Hiciano is a certified public accountant and a graduate of the Organization and Method University (O&M). He holds a master's degree in Tax Accounting from the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (UASD) and another in Business Administration with a concentration in Operations (MBA), awarded by the Pontifical Catholic University Madre y Maestra (PUCMM). He also completed a specialization in the prevention of tax fraud and money laundering at the University of Castilla-La Mancha, in Spain.

His experience spans both the public and private sectors. He has been an accountant in the Ministry of Public Health, an external auditor in the General Directorate of Internal Taxes (DGII), National Treasurer, and Comptroller General of the Republic, roles in which he supervised and audited the use of public resources. She also held the position of director of the Social Subsidies Administrator (Adess), where she led a process of technological modernization and strengthened the mechanisms for delivering subsidies to the most vulnerable sectors of the country. Correa Hiciano replaces economist Juan Alberto Mustafá, who, after his management at the Bandex , moved to the Banco de Reservas as Senior Executive Vice President of Subsidiary Companies, after leading a stage recognized for the recovery and financial strengthening of the institution.
