Wall Street closes in the green supported by Nvidia, which rises 3.9% after agreement with OpenAI

New York.- Wall Street closed in the green this Monday and the technology-heavy Nasdaq led the gains of the main indices, driven by the recent agreement reached between Nvidia and OpenAI. At the bell in the New York park, the Dow Jones rose 0.14%, to 46,381 points; the S&P 500 advanced 0.44%, to 6,693, and the Nasdaq index gained 0.7%, to 22,778. In today's session, Nvidia's rise of 3.9% stood out, after announcing a $100 billion investment in OpenAI as part of a strategic alliance to build data centers and systems with greater power and capacity. The historic agreement will allow OpenAI to deploy at least 10 gigawatts, build AI data centers with Nvidia systems, in order to train and run its next generation of models on the path to implementing "superintelligence," the companies explained in a statement.

Meanwhile, Oracle closed the day with a 6% rise after announcing that it has appointed Clay Magouyrk and Mike Sicilia as chief executives. The company also chose Safra Catz, current CEO of the software giant, to serve as executive vice president of the company's board of directors. According to specialized media, investors are awaiting a possible federal government shutdown, a concern that has limited stock market gains. The United States Senate rejected two temporary budget bills last Friday, one presented by each party, which increases the risk that the federal government will face a partial shutdown, scheduled for next October 1. Among the 30 Dow-listed companies, Apple (4.3%) and Nvidia (3.9%) stood out with gains, while the biggest losses were for Procter & Gamble (-1.9%) and 3M (-1.7%).
