Madrid (EFE).- Raúl Asencio, Real Madrid defender, is the main novelty due to his absence from coach Álvaro Arbeloa's call-up for the match his team will play this Wednesday against Bayern Munich, corresponding to the second leg of the Champions League quarter-finals.

The white center-back, who played the full 90 minutes of the LaLiga EA Sports (Spanish First Division football) match between Real Madrid and Girona, has not been included in Arbeloa's list of 23 players chosen to try to come back from a tie (1-2 at the Santiago Bernabéu stadium) that will mark the end of the season for Real Madrid.

Without medical report

There is no medical report on Asencio nor any apparent ailment of the 23-year-old defender, who surprisingly will not travel on the expedition that will leave for Munich this Tuesday. After resting in Friday's league match, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Antonio Rüdiger are back. Also the Argentinian Franco Mastantuono, who has served a suspension cycle for accumulation of cards. For this reason, Aurélien Tchouaméni has not been included and Thibaut Courtois and Rodrygo Goes have been left out due to injury. Jesús Fortea, Manuel Ángel and Daniel Yáñez have also been dropped from the list compared to Girona. The complete list of those called up consists of goalkeepers Lunin, Fran González and Javi Navarro; defenders Carvajal, Militao, Alaba, Trent, Carreras, Fran García, Rüdiger, Mendy and Huijsen; midfielders Bellingham, Camavinga, Valverde, Güler, Ceballos and Thiago Pitarch; and forwards Vinícius, Mbappé, Gonzalo, Brahim and Mastantuono.
