Santo Domingo, RD - Dominican urban artist José Alberto Rojas Peralta, known as Kiko el Crazy, revealed in an exclusive interview for Alofoke Radio Show that he spent approximately $145,000 during the legal process he faced in the United States, after being arrested in Miami for his alleged involvement in the theft of a vehicle. The singer explained that of that amount, $100,000 corresponded to the bail imposed by immigration authorities, while another $2,000 were paid for the state bail corresponding to the arrest for the alleged robbery.

Kiko el Crazy was arrested last year 2024, initially by the Miami-Dade County police after a complaint related to a vehicle reported stolen in a residential area. After the arrest, he was also taken into custody by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), which issued a "detainer," or immigration hold. According to the artist in the interview, he spent a total of 26 days in custody: one in the hands of the police for the accusation of robbery and 25 days detained by immigration while his immigration status was resolved. During the process, an immigration judge determined that there was no guilt on the part of the artist in the robbery case, and that his tax situation in the United States was in order. This finally allowed him to be granted legal residency, which he had been waiting for three years. Kiko el Crazy stated that after obtaining residency, he decided to return to the Dominican Republic to reconnect with his audience and fully resume his career, offering details during his participation in the Alofoke Radio Show program about the projects he will develop in the next 45 days. The artist assured that the legal process he faced was costly both economically and personally, as there were many setbacks he faced, but clarified that his priority was always to remain calm and exhaust due process with the intention of obtaining his legal status in the United States and formally face the case through his team of lawyers led by Javier Morales.
