Accounting Chamber will appoint 65 new auditors to conduct 50 audits starting in 2026

The Chamber of Accounts of the Dominican Republic (CCRD) held a competition for the incorporation of new auditors and plans to execute around fifty (50) simultaneous audits starting in 2026, as part of the institutional strengthening process promoted by the supreme body of fiscal control of public resources.

With the purpose of expanding its technical team, the entity initiated on August 1, 2025, an evaluation process in which more than nine hundred (900) professionals participated, who submitted their applications through the institutional digital platform. From this group, sixty-five (65) were selected to join the CCRD's audit team.

The president of the Chamber of Accounts, Dr. Emma Polanco Melo, accompanied by Vice President Francisco Tamárez Florentino and Plenary member Francisco Franco, toured the evaluation rooms, where she greeted the participants and valued their interest in being part of the State's external auditing body.

Dr. Polanco Melo highlighted the importance of integrating new professionals to ensure a more effective oversight of the use of public resources, while also noting that the incorporation of these auditors will allow for the expansion of the coverage and quality of the review processes, strengthening citizen confidence in accountability.

"With this process, we take another step in the institutional consolidation of the Chamber of Accounts, strengthening technical talent and promoting a culture of transparency and efficiency in the exercise of public auditing," said the president of the CCRD.

On his part, the general director of Audit, Fabio Enrique Roa, highlighted the transparency of the contest and assured that the selection of the new auditors is carried out exclusively based on the results obtained in the evaluation system, without external influences.

"Our Annual Audit Plan for next year is ambitious. To fulfill it, we need to strengthen human resources with enough time for their training in the use of systems, current legislation, budget analysis, and the technical aspects of the audit," Roa specified.

For the first time in its history, the Chamber of Accounts held an external competition in which applicants participated in a rigorous online evaluation process, guaranteeing transparency and efficiency in each of its stages. Subsequently, the candidates were interviewed by an evaluation jury made up of the Vice President of the Plenary, Francisco Tamárez Florentino, in his capacity as president of the Audit Commission of the CCRD; Plenary member, Ramón Méndez Acosta; and the graduates Fabio Enrique Roa, general director of Audit; Nurys Matilde Bastardo, director of Human Resources; and Franklin Ureña, director of Technology, along with a technical support team.

The General Audit Directorate announced that, soon, the Accounts Chamber will call for new competitions for financial auditors, lawyers and audit engineers, with the purpose of expanding its technical body to more than three hundred (300) professionals, which will allow to meet the institutional objectives set for next year.

The Chamber of Accounts of the Dominican Republic (CCRD) is the superior, external, and independent constitutional body of the State, responsible for the fiscal control of public resources, administrative processes, and state assets. Its mission is to guarantee transparency and accountability in the management of public funds through audits, investigations, and technical advice that contribute to institutional strengthening and the sustainable development of the country.
