A young man dies crushed by a funerary vault

A Dallas, USA, funeral home worker died after a burial vault collapsed on him, local media report. Angel Anthony Rojas, 24 years old, was performing his duties at the Restland Funeral Home when he became trapped from the waist down by the structure, which had been piled up outside the funeral home.

Although a fire crew went to the scene and used airbags and separation equipment to rescue him, the young man did not survive and died later in a hospital. Funeral vaults are containers that cover coffins to protect them from external conditions such as soil pressure and water. These structures are usually built with materials such as cement, metal, or plastic.
