Clúster Turístico recognizes Milton Morrison for leadership before the INTRANT

Santo Domingo. – Within the framework of the 8th National Road Safety Week, the executive director of INTRANT, Milton Morrison, received an outstanding recognition from the Santo Domingo Tourist Cluster for his leadership and for the actions taken to strengthen road safety in the National District, especially through the Malecón Traffic Calming Project, a strategic intervention aimed at reducing high speed, preventing accidents and converting this corridor into a safer, more family-friendly and tourist-friendly space.

The recognition was delivered during the official presentation of the project, reaffirming INTRANT's commitment to the implementation of measures that protect life, improve mobility, and reduce risks in one of the city's most emblematic spaces. During the event, the president of the Tourist Cluster, Juan Manuel Martín D’Oliva, highlighted that Morrison's management "has shown clear leadership and results-oriented", valuing the impact of the actions developed by INTRANT to reduce risks in critical areas of the National District. Upon receiving the distinction, Milton Morrison expressed that this work represents the answer to a need long identified by the citizenry and by tourism stakeholders. "We are settling a historical debt with the road safety of the Malecón. This work is born to protect lives and transform a vital corridor for our city," he affirmed. Morrison thanked the support of the Government of President Luis Abinader, the Transportation Cabinet, the tourism sector and the Mayor's Office of the National District, emphasizing that the multisectoral actions that are being implemented are already having a positive impact on the reduction of road accidents. In that same context, Minister Deligne Ascensión, coordinator of the Transportation Cabinet, also publicly acknowledged the work of Milton Morrison, highlighting his technical leadership and his ability to execute concrete and urgent solutions in high-impact corridors. Ascención underscored that the intervention of the Malecón is "a clear example of the rigor, responsibility and vision with which INTRANT, under the direction of Morrison, is transforming road safety in the country", and affirmed that the project is an example of effective articulation between the public sector, the tourism sector and the institutions linked to mobility. Also participating in the event were Fabeth Martínez, executive director of the Santo Domingo Hotels Association; General Pascual Cruz Méndez, director of DIGESETT; Darío Domínguez, director of Transit and Urban Mobility of the ADN; members of the INTRANT Board of Directors; representatives of COMIPOL, FIMOVIT, CODINTRANT and other entities of the Transportation Cabinet. With this work and with the recognition granted to its executive director, INTRANT reaffirms its commitment to life, prevention, and responsible mobility, transforming the Malecón into a safer, more accessible, and humane space for all who enjoy it every day.
