Cuba lashes out at "the vile act of piracy" by the U.S. against a ship with Venezuelan oil

Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez "strongly condemned" the seizure of a Venezuelan oil tanker by U.S. forces, calling it a "vile act of piracy."

"We condemn the vile act of piracy and the seizure by military forces of that country of a ship with Venezuelan oil, which contravenes the rules of free trade and freedom of navigation, in flagrant violation of international law," Rodríguez wrote on his X account, assuring that this action corresponds to an "aggressive escalation" by Washington against Caracas.

For its part, the Venezuelan government has described the U.S. operation as "blatant theft and an act of international piracy."

"The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela denounces and energetically repudiates what constitutes a blatant robbery and an act of international piracy, announced publicly by the US president, who confessed to the assault of an oil tanker in the Caribbean Sea," reads a statement released by Foreign Minister Yván Gil on his Telegram channel.
