Businessman catalogs the Territorial Planning Plan in Las Terrenas as necessary

Samaná.- Businessman Jhonny Cabrera stated that an effective intervention of the Land Use Plan of the municipality of Las Terrenas is urgent, given the accelerated growth experienced by the area and the lack of adequate control in land use. Cabrera maintained that the urban, tourist, and commercial development of the municipality requires clear, updated, and rigorously applied planning, which allows for guaranteeing orderly growth, environmental protection, and harmonious coexistence between investment and community. These statements were made within the framework of the meeting held this Wednesday at the Las Terrenas City Hall, where the issue of Territorial Planning for the municipality was addressed. Domingo Matías, Deputy Minister of Territorial Planning and Regional Development of the Ministry of Economy, Planning and Development (MEPyD), was present at the activity; Senator Pedro Catrain; Governor Teodoro Mullix; and the mayor of Las Terrenas, Eduardo Esteban, among other authorities and personalities of civil society.

During the meeting, the current situation of the territory was evaluated, the challenges of urban growth, and the need to strengthen the implementation of the Territorial Planning Plan, considered a key tool for regulating land use, organizing urban expansion, and preserving natural resources. The meeting seeks to lay the groundwork for sustainable and planned development, in response to the economic and tourist dynamism that characterizes Las Terrenas, one of the municipalities with the greatest growth in the province of Samaná.
