Brazil.- A 4-year-old boy is in stable condition after surviving a fall from the tenth floor of the building where he resides in the city of Ribeirão Preto, in the Brazilian state of São Paulo, report local media. Brenno Fernandes Girdziauckas, who suffers from nonverbal autism, underwent surgery and remains in the intensive care unit of a regional hospital, according to his father. The accident occurred when the minor accessed the bathroom window of the apartment, which lacked a safety railing, possibly using the sink. After the fall, they suffered a bilateral femur fracture.

The mother told the Police that she heard a noise and, upon not finding her son in the bathroom, ran to the ground floor of the building, where she found him in the common area. Preliminary investigations suggest that the impact may have been cushioned by hitting a glass window and a railing during the fall. The proximity of the house to a children's hospital allowed for its rapid attention and transfer. The family requested blood donations, receiving a significant solidarity response. Although his condition is stable, Brenno still needs specialized care. The authorities continue to investigate the exact circumstances of the accident.
